Submission of proposals for external funding (grants) is a process requiring a collaborative approach. The Office of Innovation and Research (OIR) facilitates such collaboration. We strive to provide a seamless, successful submission by coordinating various stages of proposal development and institutional approval process. Complying with Olin’s and the funding organization’s policies and procedures is also a crucial part of a successful submission and we work with the Financial Services to address these.
In short, OIR services include:
- Identifying funding opportunities
- Developing strategies for grants from federal agencies or private foundations
- Reviewing submission guidelines, compliance issues and editing proposals
- Coordinating budget preparation process with the Financial Services
- Gathering supportive internal documents
- Facilitating internal signature approval process
- Submitting proposals electronically or via U.S. mail
We also collaborate with the Financial Services during the proposal development phase to:
- Facilitate budget development and justification
- Review and plan cost sharing and matching requirement
- Prepare subcontract awards
- Review program expenditures
